I just got this one yesterday. But after installation, the signal coverage is even worse than my original CIK router. I put the router at basement, same as previous CIK. I get very weak signal on ground floor, and no signal on 2nd floor.

Is there any trick I don't know?
Try a different channel and check antenna plug to be sure the center pin is not bent causing a short

Use wifi analytics to check the channel,

seems okay. The pin seems okay as well. If I stand beside the router, I get -30dBm. But it drops pretty fast as I walk away, especially the 5G band. I get -60dBm at 30feet away. It drops even more if I walk upstairs. Don't know if that is normal.
Bought from Staples... Does the Asuswrt-Merlin you mentioned help with wifi range?

Have you tried NETGEAR Wi-Fi Analytics to determine the optimum channel? Asuswrt-Merlin can enlarge the Wifi strength.

Do you have any sense how many dBs it improves after flashing Asuswrt-Merlin? I am going to give it a try. BTW which version you are using (I am just concerned about last one may not be stable)
