port mapping

there are more than 1 computer is using the same IP, how can somebody outside reach your computer by this IP?
one of the solutions is:
make sure what port your PCanywhere is using to communicate and let the router know if any request come on this port then forward it to your computer.

So you have 4 things to do:
1. visite http://whatismyip.com/ to find your router's IP.
2. execute the dos prompt command "ipconfig" to find the local IP of your own computer.
3. get the port no that PCanywhere uses.
4. do a port mapping configure on the router.

anyway it's not easy

I downloaded PC anywhere and installed in my computer. My brother wants remote control my computer as I am not good at computer. However, I couldn't find my IP. The main reason is that I shared high-speed internet service with my landlord who told me that there is only one IP for both computers, it is not good (safe) to let me know the IP? Can anybody tell me there is a way to find out IP or there is a good way to do this, I mean not to affect my landlord's computer.
    • You have to config the firewall/router to open the port used by pc anywhere.
      • Thank you although I couldn't understand what you said.
