Emojis are now enabled by default in Chrome.
Have you ever come across an emoji in an email subject, or wondered how someone has created a room in Google Chat that includes an emoji in the name? Well the secret is out, this clever Chrome feature will allow you to insert emojis across a range of applications.
To enable this feature:
- Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome installed
- Type in chrome://flags in the URL bar - hit enter
- Search Emoji in the search bar
- You should find Emoji Context Menu > select Enabled
- You will be prompted to restart the browser in order to use this feature
Now give it a try! Right click on a text field and a context menu will appear with an emoji option at the top. You can search or select emojis and insert them into text fields.
Note: To use this feature properly it needs to be used in text fields that support the insertion of images, otherwise when you press enter the emojis may not be displayed properly.
This feature requires Windows 10 as it is a shortcut for the Windows 10 emoji panel while using Chrome.
