1.I agree you. plain text SMS is not the only stuff in this field, ringtone,logo,MMS,screensaver,WAP,online gaming and etc.
2.I have over 10 years experience in software developing and project management
3.SMPP,CMPP,SGIP,GSM is a piece of cake for me, even ISO8583 too
4.I am very familiar with SMS value add system,client/server and IPC programming. I know well about POS,bank smart card and bank system structure in china, and I know well how to construct WAP and web site. I have stable experience in all these projects.

    本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛该系统基于Solaris和Oracle,全部用C语言实现,面向大SP应用,能支持北美移动短信业务,集成了我5年短信业务经验,并多年软件设计的构思.该系统从需求分析,系统设计,编码调试全是我一个人(有点象"洗脚城"的说法啊,哈哈)
    在这里说这个事是想向大家咨询一下我现在应该如何做.
    我现在在温哥华一个西人小公司工作.该公司从事移动短消息在中国,亚洲和北美的业务,基本没什么产品,也没什么资金,目前有几个潜在的项目在进行中.
    这是我去年来加后的第一份工作,而且本周合同要结束了,老板打过招呼说要我再留一年,但还没有谈及新的合同.
    我即将结束的这个合同期很短,工资很低,而且是现金工,什么保障都无.即使这样,我还是老板付薪最痛快和最高的员工:-(,其他几个员工公司拖了很久了没发.我能得到这样的待遇是因为介绍我进公司的一个同事大力推荐,把我当这个行业的专家和编程高手看待:-).我也不负众望,在两个月做出了这个系统,大家都很满意,因为这个产品是公司业务希望所在.
    目前的问题是:
    我很看好目前这个行业在加的前景,希望通过自身努力把公司业务做起来,但是公司待遇如此之低(未来的合同也可以预见),我是否应该另谋高就?如果我走了肯定没人能玩转我写的软件(因为公司没人懂UNIX开发),但我也不想以此要挟公司,如果能多给股票,工资低也认了,但老板不见得舍得多给.(BC省程序员年均收入为63000,我如果要这个数肯定拿不到.如果工资有33000,另外30000用等市值的股票来抵,老板估计也舍不得,因为股票太便宜,量太大了)

      1) Due to its special characteristic, Messaging Service will not be eliminated. However, the development will not be only limited on the plain traditional SMS. Some of new other services have appeared already, MMS, Downloading through SMS, Gaming, etc....

      2) Usually, the average salary for programmers in Communication area is higher than average. 5 Years! Good for you!!

      3) Are you using SMPP connection to those Service Providers from your system?

      4) Are you familiar with other Intelligent Services development?

      1:在你还没找到新工作之前,不要把当前的工作给辞掉.
      2:可以和老板商量,新合同的签约,没有时间限制(你可以随时辞掉工作,或者老板随时可以炒掉你.或提前几天通知)


      还有你说你走了后,你的公司里员工没人会玩转你写的程序,这话只能哄骗外行的老板.

        以前的合同就是随时可解除的。
        你说的没错，老板是外行，但公司里确实没有人能玩的转我写的程序，因为就没几个人。当然不可否认外边高手很多的，比如rolia这里就有很多，我只是一个新手而已。
    • 没想到遇见同行了.我在国内也是做短信网关的, 来加拿大之前我也想过能否在这边找到从事移动增值业务的程序员工作, 不过一直没见到有这种职位. 你不如看看多伦多的ROGERS, TELUS等电信公司的招聘广告吧,应该有些适合你的 -henryxy(亨利大帝); 2005-4-13 (#2239560@0)
