本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛The City's last offer to Local 416s, put forward at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26 contained the following proposals:

A 3 per cent wage increase in 2002 (retroactive to January 1, 2002)

A 3 per cent wage increase in 2003

A 3 per cent wage increase in 2004

Increases in shift, weekend and pyramid premiums (to 67¢, 67¢ and $1.34 in 2002 and 2003 and 70¢, 70¢ and $1.40 in 2004) and tool allowance (to $540 for 2002 and 2003 and to $600 for 2004)

Increases each year in the per-kilometer rate (to 42¢ in 2002, 44¢ in 2003 and 46¢ per kilometer in 2004)

Improvements in benefits for employees and their families:
Up to $20,000 per person every 3 years for private duty nursing
Up to $225 per person every 2 years for eyeglasses, contacts or laser eye surgery in 2003 (up to $250 in 2003)
Up to $1,600 per person every 3 years for hearing aids (covering purchase, repair and batteries)
Coverage for prostate and ovarian cancer screening tests
Up to $4,000 per person for orthodontics

Wage protection for employees affected by wage harmonization - during the term of the agreement, employees whose wage rates went down as a result of wage harmonization would continue to receive their old higher rates of pay until the new harmonized wage rate equals or exceeds their old rate of pay. For 2002 only, such "red-circled" employees would receive a lump sum "green-circle" payment equivalent to the 3 per cent wage increase for 2002.

$500 lump sum payment to paramedics

Continuation of extensive current employment security provisions that apply to all permanent employees if their jobs are eliminated for any reason - not just because of technological change or contracting out, and regardless of how long they have worked for the city.

In the special case of contracting out or privatization, no permanent employees with ten years of service or more as of July 1, 2002 will lose their employment.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
