where is your dad? PD or HD this question can ONLY be addressed by his attending physician, from what I know, Cr at 500 ish is NOT a candidate for dialysis in China,

sounded like he is already on the right meds for CRF, i'd like to search for the causes of his CRF, if all possible, and try to correct/modify his renal function as much as possible

Thank you very much for your response. My father is in China. He has no history of hypertension and diabetes. But he had kidey stones which was treated long long time ago.My father also suffers rheumatoid arthritis, so he has been taking anti-inflammatory meds for long. So I question that is the possible cause of his CRF. How often do you think my father need to have his renal function test done? Currently he take blood test every two month. Is there anything that can be done to preserve his renal function as much as possible? Thanks again.

agree with you, sounded like NSAIDs is the chief suspect. Stop it, and follow the Cr levels weekly.
